M V Subramania Iyer is a grand old man of the family, and lives in Wynad, Kerala, where he owns coffee and spice plantations. His first wife was Krishnambal, and he had three children by her:
Parvathy (Thangam) , Venkateswaran (Doraiappan), and Vijayam. After Krishnambal passed away, Subramania Iyer married again, and had six children, Kamalam, Uma, Lakshmi, , Jothi and Ramani. Subramania Iyer continues to live in Wynad.
