Thankam is the eldest daughter of C.Subramania Iyer and Annapoorani. Originally from Koduvayur,Palakkad, Kerala India, lived in Madras after he marriage to H.Vasudevan. They had two children, Geetha (Annapoorani) and Harihara Subramaniam (Viswam). The family lived at Mylapore, Madras.
